ASSOCIATE CURATOR

The MET is currently hiring for an Associate Curator. In the role will foster new research, scholarship, acquisitions, and displays to highlight, complicate, and resituate this landmark period in art history; and you will seek deeper inroads into it that center the contributions of artists of color and women. You will work alongside colleagues at the Museum engaged in this ongoing work.


STUDIO MANAGER

The MET is looking for a Studio Manager. In the role, you will provide overall project management for the content production studio that you co-lead with managing producer(s). You ensure that digital content projects are appropriately resourced and delivered on-time and within scope. You partner with colleagues across the museum to ensure that project goals are accurately articulated and facilitate creative conversations for projects.   


ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

The Assistant Director ensures the effective and efficient delivery of daily operations, programs and services for the Latinx Project, including the development and implementation of its communication, community outreach, and assessment strategies. Partnering with a team of full-time staff, graduate students, and others, the Assistant Director will work with faculty and community stakeholders to create University and external partnerships and synergy among programming and initiatives, including exhibits, public humanities programs, and virtual events. The Assistant Director will also support the Founding Director with the development and implementation of innovative strategies for funding to support arts and culture programming that further the Latinx Project's mission.


DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY MEDIA

BRIC seeks a Director of Community Media to further actualize the BRIC mission, vision and strategic plan through programmatic departments at BRIC including: Brooklyn Free Speech Community Producer Services and Community Producer Services.  The Director of Community Media will also play a key role in managing the relationships with the cable companies and exploring revenue opportunities.


PROJECT MANAGER

Places Journal is seeking a Project Manager who will be involved in every stage of the article series “An Unfinished Atlas,” a new initiative supported by a grant from the Humanities in Places program of the Mellon Foundation.The Project Manager will work closely with Places editors and the four senior scholars comprising the project’s Editorial Advisory Committee to plan, produce, and publicize each monthly installment and the series as a whole. This position is designed for an early-career writer or scholar who is excited by the possibilities of public scholarship, and eager to immerse themselves in all aspects of editorial production.


CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT FUND PANELIST OPEN CALL

We invite your engagement as applicants and panelists as we bring back our largest-ever group of applicants (1,200 expected) and panelists (240). Information on the CDF application will be detailed on the “Applying” page of our website.For the FY23 cycle, we hope to identify panelists with a broad range of expertise within the cultural workforce including artists, teaching artists, board members, executive leaders, education staff, and marketing and community engagement professionals.Panel service will include independent review and scoring for 20-30    applications, followed by participation in a secondary review with other panelists in a single-day virtual panel  held in summer 2022.

Prudential has proudly partnered with The Community Foundation of New Jersey to manage the Prudential Community Grants Program. The Prudential Community Grants Program will provide local organizations and individuals with micro grants to support projects that create vibrancy in their neighborhoods. These community-based projects have the potential to make neighborhoods more stable and empower residents to make changes they want to see. TRANSITIONAL ART PROJECT: CAMDEN WALTER RAND

NJ Transit and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts are pleased to present the TRANSITional Art Project; Camden’s Walter Rand Transportation Center. This exciting project seeks to select 3 (three) visual artists (or artist teams), who are current residents of New Jersey and live in Camden County. Preference will be considered for artists with a close connection to Camden (living or working in the city of Camden). Qualified artists are encouraged to submit examples of their art that will be exhibited as part of the temporary art installations at the Walter Rand Transportation Center. The full project will be unveiled in September of 2023 and will be on display through November 2023. This call is one part of the TRANSITional Art Project in Camden, NJ Transit. There is an additional call for a temporary exhibition of digital prints using the railway lamp posts. See that call for more information.

RHIZOME MICROGRANTS

Program awarding small grants ($500 - $1500) for the creation of new artworks, online exhibitions, and other web-based projects. The goal of this program is to empower anyone who has an idea for a creative project that responds to network culture and digital technologies to make it.

191 ST TUNNEL RFP

DOT Art is soliciting artist proposals to beautify a pedestrian tunnel located in Washington Heights, Manhattan at 191st Street and Broadway (the “Tunnel”). DOT Art will select up to four (4) artists to develop design treatments to be painted within the Tunnel with community and volunteer support. The new designs will create an attractive corridor for pedestrians walking to and from the 1 train at 191st Street. The Tunnel is located within the Washington Heights community connecting Broadway and St. Nicholas Avenue to the 191st Street station. The Station is one of the deepest in the New York City Subway system sitting approximately 180 feet below street level. Although the Tunnel connects to the MTA Subway System, the Tunnel is mapped as a street and is thus owned and maintained by DOT.


FOUNDER'S PLAZA MURAL

The Brighton Cultural Arts Commission is requesting proposals from professional artists to design and install a mural in Founder’s Plaza located in Brighton on Bridge Street between 1st Avenue and Main Street.  The plaza has a large wall on the south side of the plaza, on the Wells Fargo Bank. The mural can be 50’ wide X 15’ high.  The wall is larger than this area.  The mural can bleed into the areas beyond the initial size.  The commission is looking at a proposal that will depict the history of Brighton in a unique way.  The history should show the past as well as the current.  Brighton began as a railroad town and developed into a farming community.  One of the main industries was a Kuner vegetable processing and packaging factory.  Brighton continues to be a vegetable farming area.  The current history of Brighton is a renewable energy corridor with wind energy manufacturing and a newly acquired lithium battery manufacturer.

ARTTABLE FELLOW

The ArtTable Fellowship program addresses the marked lack of diversity in arts employment, providing quality real-work experiences and mentorship for women-identifying and non-binary emerging professionals who self-identify as being from cultural, racial, ethnic, and/or socio-economic backgrounds generally underrepresented in the field. Each fellow will be awarded a $4,000 stipend for the five-to-eight-week commitment.

GIG WORKER LEARNING PROJECT - CALL FOR ARTISTS

CRNY invites artists to join the Workers Lab and Aspen Institute Future of Work Initiative for a 2-hour focus group, held via Zoom on Thursday, April 27, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time. They will ask you to tell them what you do for work, what words and terms you use to describe your work, what motivates you, and what challenges you face. No preparation is needed. The conversations are anonymous, and no identifying information will be recorded or shared. Participants will be compensated with a $100 electronic gift card for their time.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

FCA is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant, working closely with the Collections and Operations Manager to coordinate the smooth functioning of FCA’s office, as well as the maintenance and sale of FCA’s collection of donated artworks both online and through periodic benefit exhibitions. CULTURAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Mandel Institute is launching a new Cultural Leadership Program for artists and cultural producers who aim to reimagine Jewish life and galvanize social action through their creative work. This two-year fellowship includes an educational program and $40k stipend to advance a project. The institute is forming it first ever cohort.


LES STUDIO PROGRAM

Free six-month residencies to under-represented, emerging, and mid-career artists. Artists working across all disciplines are encouraged to apply for fully-funded shared studio space in the historic Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center in the heart of the Lower East Side. BIG WALLS BIG DREAM

The Artist Open Call for Big Walls Big Dreams Houston 2023 is open, and will close on the 17th of April, 2023 at midnight PST. Registrations received after this date will not be considered. The festival is taking place in October 2023. Artists invited to participate will be provided an artist stipend along with paint and painting materials. Artists traveling from out of town, a flight stipend and housing will also be provided.

Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice seeks to commission an art installation along the Westchester Ave / Southern Blvd Commercial corridor in the Crotona Park East and Longwood area of the Bronx. The proposed art installation will be part of Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice, Inc. 's collaboration with New York City Small Business Services Neighborhood 360 program. YMPJ’s goal is to bring art to the corridor to attract consumers, highlight small businesses, and showcase culture along the corridor. YMPJ is seeking artists who love the Bronx and have experience developing art installations in collaboration with community stakeholders. The budget allocated for the art installation will be determined as a result of this RFEI process.

CHALLENGE AMERICA

The National Endowment for the Arts offers support primarily to small organizations for projects in all artistic disciplines that extend the reach of the arts to underserved groups/communities with rich and dynamic artistic and cultural contributions to share. Grants include $10,000 and a robust structure of technical assistance, and require a cost share/match of $10,000 consisting of cash and/or in-kind contributions. Total project costs must be at least $20,000 or greater.

SUMMER YOUTH MURAL ARTS PROGRAM

Each year JCMAP offers artistically inclined Jersey City youth an opportunity to apply their skills towards the creation of public art in various locations around Jersey City. Youth are led by professional mural artists where they are given step-by-step instruction on public art techniques, including concept development, design enlargement and coherence, and spray paint techniques.

Presented in collaboration with the Times Square Advertising Coalition, Times Square Arts’ Midnight Moment is the world's largest and longest-running digital public art program. On display nightly and seen by millions of viewers each year, Midnight Moment showcases the work of contemporary artists on the world’s most iconic public canvas – the electronic billboards of Times Square. Synchronized across 90+ billboards between 41st and 49th Sts every night from 11:57pm-12am, the program features a new artist’s work each month. ILLUMINATIONS GRANT FOR BLACK TRANS WOMEN VISUAL ARTISTS

The Illuminations Grant, awarded to draw attention to an existing body of work, sheds light on the under-recognized contributions of Black trans women visual artists and provides critical support to their continuing work. PROJECT COORDINATOR - ART, COMMUNITY & CLIMATE ACTION

Earth Celebrations, a non-profit organization engaging communities to generate ecological & social change through the arts, is seeking a P/T Project Coordinator for our ECOLOGICAL CITY: Art & Climate Solutions Action Project on the Lower East Side of New York City. The Project Coordinator position (part-time) is available for Earth Celebrations' Ecological City: Art & Climate Solutions Project, applying our cultural strategies to engage community and mobilize action on local climate solutions initiatives to mitigate climate impacts and develop solutions. The project includes Art & Climate Solutions Workshops and a culminating theatrical pageant featuring visual art and 20 site performances throughout the gardens, neighborhood and waterfront on the Lower East Side of New York City.


CAPITAL PROJECTS MANAGER

The Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) seeks to fill the position of Capital Projects Manager in its Capital Projects unit. The Capital Projects unit oversees the administration of a multi-million-dollar capital program supporting the expenditure of City capital dollars funding design and construction projects and major equipment purchases at cultural facilities located throughout the City. CURATOR

Working under the supervision of the Curatorial Director and Director of Operations & Collection, the Curator will provide important curatorial work related to the presentation, publication, and collection management concerning 20th-century works in the Luna Luna collection. The role will involve in-depth research on the works within the collection, and the development of art historical content for various uses (including exhibition, website, publication, and social media). The Curator will be primarily responsible for managing external communications with artists, estates, and foundations, and internal communications with the curatorial and collection teams to ensure works in the collection are carefully managed, delivered, and presented, and lead on the conception of the touring exhibition of the collection. During the summer of 1987 in Hamburg, Germany visitors were welcomed into the world of Luna Luna, the first ever art-amusement park, formed from functional fairground attractions, interactive installations, games, and performances created by thirty-five acclaimed artists including Sonia Delaunay, Salvador Dalí, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Georg Baselitz, Keith Haring, David Hockney, Rebecca Horn, Hermann Nitsch, Roy Lichtenstein, and Jean Tinguely. Now, more than three decades later, Luna Luna will relaunch in North America before touring globally in various cities. In addition to a selection of the 1987 attractions, the reimagined Luna Luna features an evolving collection of new rides and amusements from a growing family of contemporary artists spanning art, music, food, and more.

NJPAC is producing a first-of-its-kind, three-city festival in Atlantic City (on June 7-11), Asbury Park (on June 14-18) and Newark (on June 21-25) that will highlight the outstanding talent in each city! 2050 S BUNDY PUBLC ART RFQ

Lowe is developing a new 2-tower office building located on the west side of Los Angeles. Bridging balconies link the East and West towers at all office floors. By alternating the angle of the balcony bridges, a ‘criss-cross’ or ‘scissor’ effect is produced - introducing a dynamic set of adjacent spaces. Working with the City of Los Angeles, the project is committed to providing artwork across the project to fulfill a total budget of $400,000. This budget will include the commission of several pieces of artwork as well as fabrication, engineering, installation, consulting and conservation and maintenance report costs. This call for artists will reach out for four different project opportunities on the project site. The aim for all four artwork opportunities is to create world-class public artwork in a diverse range of mediums that are designed to engage the community, and showcase.

Since 2001, S&R Evermay Foundation has supported the work of 80 artists through the Washington Award. In a renewed commitment to supporting the artistic community of Washington DC, the Washington Award is eligible to DC artists who prioritize social impact in their practice, working in the fields of visual art, interdisciplinary, music, or dance. The annual Washington Award comprises of two prize categories. Studio178 is a rotating 12-month residency program for recent MFA graduates, immigrant artists, late career artists, and artists in financial need. Studio178 residents have 24/7 use of a private 150 square foot studio work space with a sink, storage and WiFi (no living). Cost is $178/month and the residency runs from April through March each year. Residents participate fully as members of the Cornerstone Studios community. CALL FOR MD OUTDOOR MURAL ARTISTS

"The Writer’s Center (“TWC”), located in Bethesda, Maryland, is the DC area’s premier literary arts nonprofit. TWC supports writers and those who want to write through 300 creative writing workshops, and 80 literary events that are free and open to the public. The goal of this project is to draw attention to The Writer’s Center’s building while beautifying a very dreary space.

The theme for the mural is “The Power of the Written Word.”

TWC is open to broad interpretation of this theme.We hope to see vibrant, contemporary work that reflects the entirety of our local and literary communities. Artists are encouraged to cover the main section of the wall (Section One, see photo above) and also drape/spill onto adjacent spaces. TULSA ARTIST FELLOWSHIP 2023-2026

With the belief that arts are critical to the advancement of cultural citizenship, Tulsa Artist Fellowship supports artists and arts workers in the heart of Oklahoma’s Green Country. GENE LYNCH UBRAN PARK PUBLIC ART PROJECT

Montgomery Parks, part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking artist submissions to create a public art installation in suburban Washington, DC. The project will be the focal point of the new Gene Lynch Urban Park in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. The selected art will be installed on a 10-foot by 13-foot concrete wall in the park. Artists or art teams who are selected as finalists for the project will be compensated for their work. The artwork may use any media appropriate for installation on outdoor walls, columns, and/or the spaces between the columns. It should be integral to the pergola structure and could take the form of a mural, mosaic, 3-D mounted sculpture, etc., and may include a combination of different media.

The Institute for Public Architecture (IPA) welcomes applications for the Summer Independent Projects Residency, based at the historic Block House on Governors Island. COAHEC MURALS - THE PLIGHT OF MIGRANT CHILDREN

Colorado Area Health Education Centers (COAHEC) with its Medicina y Urban Rural Art Lessons en Salud (MURALS) Project and the CU Center for Bioethics and Humanities (CBH) are partnering to seek qualified artists who wish to be considered to create an outdoor wall mural at the Fulginiti Pavilion for Bioethics and Humanities building on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) located in Aurora, CO. The overall theme for this mural is The Plight of Children in Migration. This theme is informed by the work of Prof. Warren Binford, author, recognized children’s rights scholar and advocate for children, including those in migration. This mural will complement two exhibits on display in the Fulginiti Pavilion, as well as a commissioned music and dance performance.

The Vibrant Cities Arts Grant 2023 is designed to support the creative community and artists still recovering from the economic impacts of COVID-19 within the City of Los Angeles. Hudson Pacific Properties and Blackstone, co-owners of Sunset Studios, allocated the Art Development Fee funds from their Sunset Glenoaks Studios project towards this non-project-specific fund for artists. Sunset Glenoaks is the first large-scale, purpose-built studio development in the Los Angeles area in over 20 years and is set to open in the second half of 2023. Artists must reside within Los Angeles County.

SHIFT - TRANSFORMATIVE CHANGE AND INDIGENOUS ARTS PROGRAM

The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation is now accepting applications for The SHIFT – Transformative Change and Indigenous Art program. FREE ROOM AND BOARD RESIDENCY FOR BIPOC ARTISTS

BIPOC artists that have developed a project that focuses on ending racism or addresses an intersectional issue and have a need for room and board in New York City are invited to apply for the 2023-2024 Bayard Rustin Residency. This residency provides room and board to one artist or activist for up to one year at the Penington Friends House, a collaborative living community founded by the Society of Friends (Quakers) in 1897. Their initial board included abolitionists and over the years the house has served as a meeting place for activists and artists. Applicants for this residency should be interested and willing to experience communal living. Residents in the house make communal decisions based on Quaker process ( similar to restorative justice) and participate in maintaining the house. Residents are diverse and multigenerational, mostly non-Quaker, and are mostly artists and activists. The Penington Friends House is in a historic 5 story walk up Brownstone in the Lower East Side of Manhattan near Union Square. The house is not overtly religious but we all seek to live by the Quaker values of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship.

UPTOWN ARTS STROLL POSTER CONTEST

The 21st Uptown Arts Stroll/Paseo de las Artes is a hybrid of in-person & virtual programming in June 2023 from West 135th to West 220th Street in West Harlem, Washington Heights & Inwood. The Uptown Arts Stroll started as a volunteer organized one-day event the Sunday before Thanksgiving 2003 and grew into a month-long festival celebrating northern Manhattan’s visual and performing artists. The Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA) has produced the Uptown Arts Stroll since 2008.

ARTIST GRANT: CYCLE 2

Artist Grant provides a $500 USD grant to one visual artist each grant cycle. Once an artist wins a grant, they may not apply again. We also award 2nd and 3rd place runners-up with $100 USD each. RIGHT OF RETURN USA FELLOWSHIP

The Right of Return Fellowship was co-founded in 2017 by justice-impacted artists Russell Craig and Jesse Krimes. ArtsWestchester is pleased to announce the opportunity for the creative community to propose exhibitions for our gallery at 31 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains in 2023. PARK AVENUE VIADUCT E 116TH STREET

MTA Arts & Design seeks images of artists’ previous work to review in consideration for a new site-specific permanent artwork, in conjunction with the Park Avenue Viaduct (PAV) Replacement project at East 116th Street in Manhattan. The PAV Replacement Project focuses on the elevated steel structure that carries four tracks along Park Avenue between East 110th Street and the Harlem River Lift Bridge. The MTA’s Construction & Development (MTA C&D) and Metro-North Railroad (MNR) team will replace segments of the PAV from East 115th Street to 123rd Street for Phase 1. The new MTA A&D permanent artwork will be fabricated in durable materials, such as metal. An approved fabricator will be translating the final artwork designs into the identified media.

What Can We Do? (WCWD?) is a micro grant program that supports AAPI artists and their community care projects in New York City. VISUAL VOICES: RFQ FOR VISUAL ART CURATORS

JCAL invites proposals from Queens-based curators for Visual Voices, a paid, three-year curatorial initiative (2023-2025).

Visual Voices curators will receive fiscal, strategic and institutional support to propose and mount exhibitions in JCAL’s galleries and partner spaces that explore themes reflective of the BIIPOC experience in Queens and, more broadly, in New York City.

Visual Voices curators will guide JCAL exhibitions with new and returning community-based partners, and as part of JCAL’s annual Open Call, and for special projects. Curators will receive a minimum of $4,000 per project.

SUSTAINABLE ARTS FOUNDATION AWARD

This year, SAF will make awards of $5,000 each to twenty artists and writers with children. Additionally, we will name twenty finalists.Our awards offer unrestricted cash, which recipients can use as they like. Our selection process is focused almost entirely on the strength of the submitted portfolio. Artists and writers with at least one child under the age of 18 and a strong portfolio are welcome to apply. SAF is inspired by anyone making creative work while raising a family. Given the intense demand for these awards (we typically receive 2,000-3,000 applications), and the fact that the awards are based on demonstrated excellence in your discipline, we don’t recommend that artists or writers just beginning their creative careers apply to this program. In this four-part class, hosted by the Alternative Art School with Lexa Walsh, students will take advantage of the New Year’s energy to get cracking on their career goals. RACIAL EQUITY ART PROJECT RFQ

The City of San Mateo, CA is excited to announce that we are seeking professional and/or emerging artists to complete a Racial Equity Art Project in Downtown San Mateo which will be painted in the center of one or both of the Pedestrian Malls on B Street in Downtown San Mateo. We are looking for artists to design a painting that represents San Mateo’s diversity and commitment to racial equity. The artist selection will occur through a multi-phased process. The first step in the process is this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) where we are inviting artists to submit their portfolio of work and their approach to this project. The City’s Civic Arts Committee anticipates choosing five finalists that will receive a $1,000 stipend to develop a proposal, including a rendering of the artwork for the site. ASPHALT ART ACTIVATION

As part of NYC DOT’s efforts to make our streets more pedestrian friendly, the agency continues to reclaim underutilized street space for pedestrian use whether it be a curb extension to create larger waiting areas at corners with a more direct crosswalk; a slip lane closure to encourage pedestrian circulation along the curb line adjacent to a heavily trafficked sidewalk; or an entire street transformation from that of a thoroughfare for cars into an active public space for pedestrians to stop and linger. Each year NXTHVN welcomes up to seven artists and two curators to participate in its paid 10-month intensive Fellowship Program. May 2024 represents the 70th anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case. The City of Topeka is gearing up for a summer-long civil rights commemoration for 2024 and is committed to making the arts an integral component of that effort. ArtsConnect is currently seeking artists and/or artist collectives who are interested in undertaking the creation of collaborative and meaningful artwork centered on critical discussion of both the historic and contemporary heritage of the landmark Brown v. MARTA Artbound seeks four artists to create artworks that will be translated into large mosaic installations on the platforms at Five Points MARTA Station. The City of Tampa Arts & Cultural Affairs Division is seeking an artwork to be created for the façade of the new expansion of the McKay Bay Waste Transfer Station. Bronx Recognizes Its Own (BRIO) provides direct support to individual Bronx artists who create works in the literary, media, visual, and performing arts. INDIGENOUS CURATORIAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

This Curatorial Research Fellowship is specifically intended to support the development of the curatorial practice of Indigenous curators in the U.S. It will encourage independent research study, writing, and/or the development of a curatorial project. MISSISSIPPI RIVER BASIN CURATORIAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

The Mississippi River Basin Curatorial Research Fellowship supports curators who focus on curatorial and artistic practices, and/or alternative histories of the region broadly defined by connections to the Mississippi River: an area encompassing 40% of the United States, which includes the watersheds of the Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Arkansas-White-Red, and Tennessee Rivers across 32 states. While being based in this region is not a requirement, current or past direct involvement with the area is preferred. Fellow will receive regular mentorship sessions virtually, as well as an award of $10,000 to encourage independent research study, writing, and/or the development of a curatorial project. This Fellowship is open to curators working independently or with institutional affiliations. Minimum 5 years of experience working with contemporary artists.

ARTIST GRANT: CYCLE 1

Artist Grant provides a $500 USD grant to one visual artist each grant cycle. Once an artist wins a grant, they may not apply again. We also award 2nd and 3rd place runners-up with $100 USD each. Runners-up may apply again in a future grant cycle. There are four grant cycles per year – January 15, April 15, July 15, and October 15. The deadline for the current grant cycle is January 15, 2023. There is a $25 application fee.

HAYAMA ARTIST RESIDENCY

The Public Art Mural Grant is a four-week residency in Kington, NY which an artist will create an original work for WSW’s mural wall. The Third Annual En Foco Media Arts Fund: Work in Progress (WIP) Initiative: $2,000 Support Grant in collaboration with BronxNet is designed to support New York City artists of color who engage with Digital Media technologies within their art-making processes. The award will focus solely on works that need support toward the completion of a current work in progress, which demonstrates the highest quality of work and potential as determined by a panel of peers, and industry professionals. All innovative interpretations of Digital Media will be considered, requiring a critical digital aspect in both the process and product. HAMILTON COUNTY/FINDLAY MARKET PARKING GARAGE MURAL

This 535-space public garage will include 15,000 square feet of retail space on the ground level that will be accessible to both Central Parkway to the west and Elder Street to the south. The perimeter façade aims to have the appearance of multiple buildings to provide scale to the overall building massing, while also relating to the surrounding neighborhood. Two of the south façade sections and two of the north façade sections will incorporate living walls. Additionally, as part of this planned development, the new garage will create dedicated space for a south-facing 4-story tall area, which is reserved for a unique and one-of-a-kind mural that will be designed by a professional artist. The artist/artist team selected to create the final design will produce and deliver design files that will be executed by a team of professional Teaching Artists and Youth Apprentices employed by ArtWorks

The New York State Seed Funding Grant Program (the “Program”) was created to provide assistance to early-stage small businesses to succeed in a recovering New York State economy. Small businesses include Micro-businesses and For-profit independent arts and cultural organizations, including independent arts contractors. Grant awards will be calculated based upon the annual amount of gross receipts as shown on their provided 2020 or 2021 business tax return and will range from $5,000 to $20,000.

The South Arts State Fellowship (state fellowship) is a state-specific prize awarded to artists whose work reflects the best of the visual arts in the South. Each of the nine-state fellowship winners will be awarded a $5,000 state fellowship and will compete for one of the two Southern Prizes. The nine-state fellowship recipients will compete for the Southern Prize. Both Southern Prize recipients will also receive a two-week residency at The Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences. A separate national jury will convene to evaluate the body of work represented by the nine-state fellowship recipients and select the Prize winner and Finalist. DESIGNED BY COMMUNITY FELLOW

The Designed by Community Fellowship Program is a paid opportunity for Bronx residents to lead a new project for their neighborhood. This year’s project will focus on Digital Access, the idea that all people should be connected equally with technology and digital resources, especially those who have been historically under-resourced. We are not looking for tech experts - this opportunity will allow the community to lead a project based on what they think the Bronx needs. That could be printing services, a technology club, a space for digital creativity, or something totally different!
