MEETING OF THE STYLES

The second edition of MOS Indonesia will be happening at Karanganyar in Central Java, a new city with a new spot! We hope our second event will attract more writers from other countries to join and paint together with us. is known for many Graffiti Writers as the biggest playground in South East Asia for vacation and Graffiti trips. With hundreds of cities, exotic islands, tourist attractions and various cultures to be explored and experienced.


DIRECTOR OF PEOPLE & CULTURE

BRIC seeks a strategic and experienced people and culture leader to develop a transformational cohesive talent strategy for BRIC that builds and improves upon existing processes and systems. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of People & Culture will be responsible for identifying and implementing best practices in talent management as well as serving as in-house expert and strategist on all talent & HR-related issues. This role supports team members throughout the organization in the areas of talent development, talent acquisition, employee relations, and the overall candidate and employee experience from hire to rehire. The Director will build, enhance, promote and measure frameworks, policies, and tools that support strategies used to develop, reward, and retain BRIC’s extraordinary people.


CURATORIAL ASSISTANT

The Curatorial Assistant provides administrative support to the curatorial department and to the Deputy Director, Collections & Curatorial Strategies. This individual is responsible for organizing and maintaining internal and external correspondence related to collections, answering basic research questions, interacting with visiting scholars, donors, and consultants., The curatorial assistant participates in the research and interpretation of the Museum’s global art collections and assists and supports exhibition development and implementation. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Collections & Curatorial.


ARTS AND CULTURE PR INTERN

Cultural Counsel is a New York-based communications consultancy. Founded in 2015, we have grown to encompass a dedicated team of PR professionals, journalists, artists, and designers, who all share a deep understanding of today’s media and communications environment. We are seeking a full-time intern to help our result-oriented, award winning firm. This paid position ($15/hour) offers hands-on experience with a fast-growing company dedicated to advancing culture to the forefront of contemporary dialogue.

This role will include assisting the team with daily tasks, and updating company media reports and archives, as well as interactions with clients, administrative support, and archive management. Meta Open Arts builds community through creativity. We present art-related experiences that invite new ways of thinking about ourselves, our communities, and the world at large. ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAM @ CORNERSTONE STUDIO

Studio178 is a rotating 12-month residency program for recent MFA graduates, immigrant artists, late career artists, and artists in financial need. Studio178 residents have 24/7 use of a private 150 square foot studio work space with a sink, storage and WiFi (no living). Cost is $178/month and the residency runs from April through March each year. Residents participate fully as members of the Cornerstone Studios community. At the end of each residency, artists are asked to present their work publicly, in-person or virtually. Applicants must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to qualify.

The Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District (TTBID), in partnership with the Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation (DHPN) and Made in Color (MIC), is elated to share this request for qualifications for the Temescal Roots Project. We seek an artist to design, fabricate, and install a public art installation at the intersection of Telegraph, Shattuck Avenue, and 45th Street in the Temescal District of North Oakland. Aside from the fact that this installation cannot be a mural, there are no limitations about what form the artwork (or works) will take.

APPRENTICESHIP CALL FOR BLACK TRANS ARTISTS, CURATORS

Artist Sage Ni’Ja Whitson seeks Black Trans* artists, curators, or technicians for a paid apprenticeship offering curatorial and technical experiences in Spring 2023. Apprentices will work with the artist, curator, and technical team at EMPAC—Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on the development and performance of Whitson’s new live work Transtraterrestrial, a prequel and premiere of The Unarrival Experiments – Unconcealment Ceremonies. Apprentices must be available to work three hours per day for any six days during the period of March 27–April 6, 2023. Work takes place in-person on site at EMPAC located in Troy, NY.

The Circ Artist Grants are open to emerging, mid-career, and professional artists in an international open call, several times throughout the year. The Circ Artist Grant provides unrestricted funding to artists with a demonstrated commitment to their art. The Philadelphia Fellowship for Black Artists was designed in 2020 to fund, foster, and elevate the important work of emerging Black artists residing within the City of Philadelphia. This year, the 2023 Fellowship will support 15 artists of any medium with $2,000 in unrestricted funding to support their art practice.

CALL FOR MD OUTDOOR MURAL ARTISTS

"The Writer’s Center (“TWC”), located in Bethesda, Maryland, is the DC area’s premier literary arts nonprofit. TWC supports writers and those who want to write through 300 creative writing workshops, and 80 literary events that are free and open to the public. The goal of this project is to draw attention to The Writer’s Center’s building while beautifying a very dreary space.

The theme for the mural is “The Power of the Written Word.”

TWC is open to broad interpretation of this theme.We hope to see vibrant, contemporary work that reflects the entirety of our local and literary communities. Artists are encouraged to cover the main section of the wall (Section One, see photo above) and also drape/spill onto adjacent spaces. The artwork may utilize aerosols and other paint materials typical in graffiti-style, graphic street art. Artists can apply in teams but lead artists must be a Maryland resident.

ART SEEN FESTIVAL OPEN CALL

The Art Seen Festival is a creative movement celebrating the public arts and mural making in an effort to bring more vibrancy to the community. Public art gives the community a collective voice and a way to express values while it brings awareness of and beauty to both the physical and cultural landscape of the city. The festival committee is seeking family friendly mural designs in any artistic style. They are looking for captivating designs that are visually appealing and represent the community we foster. TULSA ARTIST FELLOWSHIP 2023-2026

With the belief that arts are critical to the advancement of cultural citizenship, Tulsa Artist Fellowship supports artists and arts workers in the heart of Oklahoma’s Green Country. Socially invested artistic practitioners live and work here, intentionally engaging with the city. Tulsa Artist Fellowship is a place-based durational award focused on supporting visionary arts practitioners. In the 2023 application cycle, Tulsa Artist Fellowship will designate 10 new fellows from an open call process who will receive a total of $150,000 over three-award years in addition to a $12,000 yearly housing stipend, $1,200 yearly health stipend, $1,200 yearly studio assistant stipend, $1,500 relocation stipend, fully-subsidized studio spaces, and access to shared art-making facilities. Our program is integrated into Tulsa’s vibrant Arts District and historic Greenwood District with galleries and performance venues, green space, independent retailers, and restaurants. Tulsa Artist Fellowship recognizes that groundbreaking art practices thrive within an intention-setting framework. Awardees commit to actualizing a project during the three-year program term.

GENE LYNCH UBRAN PARK PUBLIC ART PROJECT

Montgomery Parks, part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking artist submissions to create a public art installation in suburban Washington, DC. The project will be the focal point of the new Gene Lynch Urban Park in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. The selected art will be installed on a 10-foot by 13-foot concrete wall in the park. Artists or art teams who are selected as finalists for the project will be compensated for their work. The artwork may use any media appropriate for installation on outdoor walls, columns, and/or the spaces between the columns. It should be integral to the pergola structure and could take the form of a mural, mosaic, 3-D mounted sculpture, etc., and may include a combination of different media.

The Curatorial Assistant is a key part of the Queens Museum’s Exhibitions and Programs Team and is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of an integrated program of exhibitions and public programs. Reporting to the Director of Curatorial Affairs and Programs, they are responsible for a variety of curatorial and administrative tasks including exhibition research, planning, programs and events; managing contacts and correspondence; assisting with the coordination of catalogs, didactic materials, and exhibition documentation; and writing and editing exhibition-related copy.

2023 SUMMER RESIDENCY AT THE BLOCK HOUSE

The Institute for Public Architecture (IPA) welcomes applications for the Summer Independent Projects Residency, based at the historic Block House on Governors Island. The IPA uses design to challenge social and physical inequities in our cities. We address urgent issues of design and policy by mobilizing our network of design activists, professionals, and community stakeholders.

Emerging and mid-career architects, urbanists, policymakers, artists, and those committed to the public realm in all disciplines are invited to apply. Applicants will bring their own interests and projects to the program and will receive opportunities to present their work to the public on Governors Island over the course of the Residency. Each Fellow also receives invaluable project support through access to subject matter experts and resources relevant to their project.

TEACHING ARTIST FACILITATOR

Teaching Artist Facilitators will support both the Free Arts Days and the Art parties and report to both the Free Arts Day Program Manager and Development Manager. in preparing for and leading program events. This includes assisting with preparation and day-of logistics ; supporting and guiding positive engagement with volunteers during Art Parties and between volunteer mentors and kids throughout FADs; upholding Free Arts NYC’s philosophy and being an ambassador for the organization at events.

CULTUREHUB RESIDENCY

The CultureHub Residency program will offer one-week residencies to artists September 11–December 15, 2023. Artists will receive one week of studio access with full technical support at CultureHub New York or Los Angeles to target specific areas of their project’s development and engage the CultureHub community around their work. These residencies are designed to support artists as they get new work on its feet and in front of an audience. Preference will be given to proposals that have a clear vision for how to use our physical space and resources

BAYVIEW MURAL PROJECT

Bayview Foundation and the Bayview Public Art Selection Committee invite artists and artist teams to submit public art qualifications for the design and installation of a 22’ x 32’ mural that utilizes the Regent Street side of the recently completed 48-unit Bayview apartment building at the corner of Regent and West Washington Avenue in Madison, WI. The artist or team will be charged with developing a mural that reflects residents’ interests and experiences.

Black Girl Freedom Fund (BGFF), the largest initiative of Grantmakers for Girls of Color, is thrilled to announce our 2023 open call for applications for funding.

FELLOWSHIP FOR UTOPIAN PRACTICE 2023

The Fellowship is a testing ground for new ideas that connect artistic practice, civic engagement, and social justice. Through the Fellowship for Utopian Practice, Culture Push serves artists by providing creative, analytical, and logistical tools in the creation of truly transformative projects. During this cycle we will be focusing on projects that investigate themes of abundance. What stories and histories do we need to tell and illuminate, so that we can imagine ourselves into the future thriving together? What is your abundance strategy to refuse practices of scarcity?

The Fellowship program is open to artists and other professionals working in any discipline who wish to expand the boundaries of their practice. Three Fellows are selected for each application cycle. Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience in their field. Currently enrolled undergraduate students may not apply. Projects must be new, socially engaged work that have not received any prior institutional support and occur within the five boroughs of New York City. Group or collaborative proposals are welcome.

EZHISHKIN SCHOLARSHIP

The Ezhishin Scholarship is new this year and created in followup to last Fall’s successful Ezhishin Type Drives Culture conference, the first-ever panel and workshop event dedicated to Native North American typography.

The $5,000 scholarship, funded by Google, is for Native American and First Nation individuals in the US and Canada, respectively, who exemplify a creative practice that explores typography, type design, or relevant linguistic work.

Broderick “Adé” Hogue was a Chicago-based art director and letterer as passionate about the sport of cycling as he was about the intricacies of design—with a drive to foster diversity in both worlds. Sponsored by Monotype, the Adé Hogue Scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding BIPOC student currently in their junior (in the penultimate year of their undergraduate degree) year of college or in their first year of graduate or postgraduate school. Presented in collaboration with the Times Square Advertising Coalition, Times Square Arts’ Midnight Moment is the world's largest and longest-running digital public art program. On display nightly and seen by millions of viewers each year, Midnight Moment showcases the work of contemporary artists on the world’s most iconic public canvas – the electronic billboards of Times Square. Synchronized across 90+ billboards between 41st and 49th Sts every night from 11:57pm-12am, the program features a new artist’s work each month. Midnight Moment is made possible by the dozens of billboard operators who generously donate their advertising space for these 3 minutes each night, 364 nights each year.

TAG NAME WRITING IN PUBLIC SPACE : CALL FOR PAPERS

The Tag Conference is an international meeting where academics and non-academics talk about both contemporary tagging and its historical antecedents. In its three successful instalments so far in Berlin, Amsterdam and Cologne, Tag has proved that there is a substantial interest in this underexplored field among thinkers across the world. This is why we are happy to announce the fourth Tag Conference, a new opportunity to delve deeper into the study of name-writing in public space.The Tag Conference welcomes the participation of non-scholars, and will consider any alternative presentational format such as panel debates, artist discussions, photography or video.

JAMAICA QUEENS DEPOT CALL FOR ARTISTS

MTA Arts & Design seeks images of artists’ previous work to review in consideration for a new permanent Percent for Art project, in conjunction with construction of a new Jamaica Bus Depot in Jamaica, Queens, to be fabricated in durable materials, such as glass and mosaic. An approved fabricator will be translating the final artwork designs into the identified media, therefore an artist’s prior experience, or lack thereof, with these materials will not be taken into consideration when reviewing images.

The Abbey Mural Prize aims to broaden support and recognition of the vital role that murals play in making public space more open and accessible. ARTSTART MINI GRANTS

The ArtStart Grant Program has been a catalyst for cultural activity in the local Newark arts community. The program offers mini-grants to community members, schools, non-profits and individual artists with the aim of nurturing a broad spectrum of arts and cultural activities involving young people and/or taking place in our neighborhoods. By seeding these innovative programs, Newark Arts continues to fulfill its mission of powering the arts in locations that are often overlooked by traditional programs, and stimulating economic and cultural activity on a hyper-local level.

“Just Us” Art Call is for concepts for mural projects that highlight social injustice, equity, race relations and community engagement. Submissions must include written authorization from the property owner granting the artist or collective permission to paint their concept on the wall. (1) You will run ONE week (2) Yellow buff paint is supplied, bring your own stick, sponge & paint roller. (You buff the wall before painting it). (3) First available date is March 25th. COAHEC MURALS - THE PLIGHT OF MIGRANT CHILDREN

Colorado Area Health Education Centers (COAHEC) with its Medicina y Urban Rural Art Lessons en Salud (MURALS) Project and the CU Center for Bioethics and Humanities (CBH) are partnering to seek qualified artists who wish to be considered to create an outdoor wall mural at the Fulginiti Pavilion for Bioethics and Humanities building on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) located in Aurora, CO. The overall theme for this mural is The Plight of Children in Migration. This theme is informed by the work of Prof. Warren Binford, author, recognized children’s rights scholar and advocate for children, including those in migration. This mural will complement two exhibits on display in the Fulginiti Pavilion, as well as a commissioned music and dance performance.

ARH ARTISTS FELLOWSHIP

The AFH Artists Fellowship, led by acclaimed Boston artist and AFH co-founder Rob Gibbs. The Fellowship seeks to amplify the voices and advance the careers of AFH alums, and other local and national artists, on the public stage. Under the umbrella of the AFH mission, the Fellowship offers artists an opportunity to contribute to a growing and thriving intergenerational artistic community. Exhibition for Black History Month at Fulton Center.

Art on the Aveuses vacant storefronts in high visibility locations to create interactive art exhibitions for all to enjoy. Our next exhibition will be located at the Fulton Center Subway Station in lower Manhattan. Through its collaboration with Westfield, Art on the Ave NYC will transform vacant retail spaces in this transit hub into a showcase for local artists and a celebration of Black History. We want to highlight aspects of African Americans’ journeys and responses in creating strong and hopeful communities.

BUMP FESTIVAL

DEPUTY DIRECTOR

The W.O.W. Project is a women, queer, and trans-led community initiative using art and activism to grow and protect NYC Chinatown’s creative culture in a time of rapid change. The Deputy Director will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop a comprehensive organizational fundraising strategy with clearly defined milestones and targets. In concert with the Executive Director and the Program Director, the Deputy Director will define the organizational strategy and initiatives necessary to shape W.O.W.’s growth in a period of expansion. Arts Mid-Hudson seeks poetry and visual art submissions for inclusion in the upcoming exhibition, Poets Respond to Art, which will be on view in Arts Mid-Hudson’s vgallery opening on March 21, 2023. VIBRANT CITIES ART GRANTS 2023

The Vibrant Cities Arts Grant 2023 is designed to support the creative community and artists still recovering from the economic impacts of COVID-19 within the City of Los Angeles. Hudson Pacific Properties and Blackstone, co-owners of Sunset Studios, allocated the Art Development Fee funds from their Sunset Glenoaks Studios project towards this non-project-specific fund for artists. Sunset Glenoaks is the first large-scale, purpose-built studio development in the Los Angeles area in over 20 years and is set to open in the second half of 2023. FREE ROOM AND BOARD RESIDENCY FOR BIPOC ARTISTS

BIPOC artists that have developed a project that focuses on ending racism or addresses an intersectional issue and have a need for room and board in New York City are invited to apply for the 2023-2024 Bayard Rustin Residency. This residency provides room and board to one artist or activist for up to one year at the Penington Friends House, a collaborative living community founded by the Society of Friends (Quakers) in 1897. Their initial board included abolitionists and over the years the house has served as a meeting place for activists and artists. Applicants for this residency should be interested and willing to experience communal living. Residents in the house make communal decisions based on Quaker process ( similar to restorative justice) and participate in maintaining the house. Residents are diverse and multigenerational, mostly non-Quaker, and are mostly artists and activists. The Penington Friends House is in a historic 5 story walk up Brownstone in the Lower East Side of Manhattan near Union Square. The house is not overtly religious but we all seek to live by the Quaker values of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship.

UPTOWN ARTS STROLL POSTER CONTEST

The 21st Uptown Arts Stroll/Paseo de las Artes is a hybrid of in-person & virtual programming in June 2023 from West 135th to West 220th Street in West Harlem, Washington Heights & Inwood. The Uptown Arts Stroll started as a volunteer organized one-day event the Sunday before Thanksgiving 2003 and grew into a month-long festival celebrating northern Manhattan’s visual and performing artists. The Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA) has produced the Uptown Arts Stroll since 2008.

ARTIST GRANT: CYCLE 2

Artist Grant provides a $500 USD grant to one visual artist each grant cycle. Once an artist wins a grant, they may not apply again. We also award 2nd and 3rd place runners-up with $100 USD each. RIGHT OF RETURN USA FELLOWSHIP

The Right of Return Fellowship was co-founded in 2017 by justice-impacted artists Russell Craig and Jesse Krimes. Right of Return Fellows produces work that advances criminal and racial justice.The annual, open-call Fellowship is intended for people working in all disciplines, including visual art, performance, poetry, sound, media, and design. Harlem Festival of Culture has partnered with Steve Madden to launch the HFC X Steve Madden Design Challenge. ArtsWestchester is pleased to announce the opportunity for the creative community to propose exhibitions for our gallery at 31 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains in 2023. We are seeking proposals that celebrate, educate, and promote community in Westchester. PARK AVENUE VIADUCT E 116TH STREET

MTA Arts & Design seeks images of artists’ previous work to review in consideration for a new site-specific permanent artwork, in conjunction with the Park Avenue Viaduct (PAV) Replacement project at East 116th Street in Manhattan. The PAV Replacement Project focuses on the elevated steel structure that carries four tracks along Park Avenue between East 110th Street and the Harlem River Lift Bridge. The MTA’s Construction & Development (MTA C&D) and Metro-North Railroad (MNR) team will replace segments of the PAV from East 115th Street to 123rd Street for Phase 1. The new MTA A&D permanent artwork will be fabricated in durable materials, such as metal. An approved fabricator will be translating the final artwork designs into the identified media.

Curationist invites graduate students, faculty, librarians, and community-based researchers to apply for the Curationist Fellows Program. JCAL invites proposals from Queens-based curators for Visual Voices, a paid, three-year curatorial initiative (2023-2025).

Visual Voices curators will receive fiscal, strategic and institutional support to propose and mount exhibitions in JCAL’s galleries and partner spaces that explore themes reflective of the BIIPOC experience in Queens and, more broadly, in New York City.

This year, SAF will make awards of $5,000 each to twenty artists and writers with children. Additionally, we will name twenty finalists.Our awards offer unrestricted cash, which recipients can use as they like. Our selection process is focused almost entirely on the strength of the submitted portfolio. Artists and writers with at least one child under the age of 18 and a strong portfolio are welcome to apply. SAF is inspired by anyone making creative work while raising a family. RACIAL EQUITY ART PROJECT RFQ

The City of San Mateo, CA is excited to announce that we are seeking professional and/or emerging artists to complete a Racial Equity Art Project in Downtown San Mateo which will be painted in the center of one or both of the Pedestrian Malls on B Street in Downtown San Mateo. We are looking for artists to design a painting that represents San Mateo’s diversity and commitment to racial equity. The artist selection will occur through a multi-phased process. The first step in the process is this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) where we are inviting artists to submit their portfolio of work and their approach to this project. The City’s Civic Arts Committee anticipates choosing five finalists that will receive a $1,000 stipend to develop a proposal, including a rendering of the artwork for the site. ASPHALT ART ACTIVATION

As part of NYC DOT’s efforts to make our streets more pedestrian friendly, the agency continues to reclaim underutilized street space for pedestrian use whether it be a curb extension to create larger waiting areas at corners with a more direct crosswalk; a slip lane closure to encourage pedestrian circulation along the curb line adjacent to a heavily trafficked sidewalk; or an entire street transformation from that of a thoroughfare for cars into an active public space for pedestrians to stop and linger. All interested professional architects, artists and/or graphic designers (the “Artists”) are eligible to submit past work in response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to be selected to develop and install a final design at one of a series of asphalt street spaces (the “Project Sites”) designated by NYC DOT.

May 2024 represents the 70th anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case. The City of Topeka is gearing up for a summer-long civil rights commemoration for 2024 and is committed to making the arts an integral component of that effort. ArtsConnect is currently seeking artists and/or artist collectives who are interested in undertaking the creation of collaborative and meaningful artwork centered on critical discussion of both the historic and contemporary heritage of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision, this project will be the centerpiece of a summer filled with community exploration—a creative, multi-disciplinary, multi-site experience that seeks to create a meaningful conversation about equity and justice."

MARTA Artbound seeks four artists to create artworks that will be translated into large mosaic installations on the platforms at Five Points MARTA Station. Create a wrap design for Central Florida Arts Advocates going to Tallahassee for Arts Advocacy Days beginning on March 21, 2023. The selected artist will receive $1,200. The bus will remain in circulation in Central Florida for approximately six months. Artwork must be submitted in a digital media format and should be representative of the thriving arts and culture scene in Central Florida. Artwork must be “instagrammable” using a trompe l'oeil effect giving greater depth to the work. The completed artwork will serve as background that would entice people to take photos and selfies. This artwork can contain words, but does not need to include a logo.

The City of Tampa Arts & Cultural Affairs Division is seeking an artwork to be created for the façade of the new expansion of the McKay Bay Waste Transfer Station. Bronx Recognizes Its Own (BRIO) provides direct support to individual Bronx artists who create works in the literary, media, visual, and performing arts. Artist Grant provides a $500 USD grant to one visual artist each grant cycle. Once an artist wins a grant, they may not apply again. We also award 2nd and 3rd place runners-up with $100 USD each. HAMILTON COUNTY/FINDLAY MARKET PARKING GARAGE MURAL

This 535-space public garage will include 15,000 square feet of retail space on the ground level that will be accessible to both Central Parkway to the west and Elder Street to the south. The perimeter façade aims to have the appearance of multiple buildings to provide scale to the overall building massing, while also relating to the surrounding neighborhood. Two of the south façade sections and two of the north façade sections will incorporate living walls. Additionally, as part of this planned development, the new garage will create dedicated space for a south-facing 4-story tall area, which is reserved for a unique and one-of-a-kind mural that will be designed by a professional artist. The City of Ostrava, in collaboration with the Moravian-Silesian Region, is announcing an international art competition to design and implement a street art mural. The scene of the new mural will be a large retaining wall in Ostrava (located in the district of Slezská Ostrava, Czech Republic). The large-scale mural should reflect the dramatic and substantial transformation experienced by Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region in recent years. It should also respond to the specific features (whether historical, social or sporting) of the city/region as such – including an appropriate commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Baník sports club, which is inextricably associated with the Bazaly site.

The Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP) is seeking a Program Assistant to provide general project, organizational, and administrative support for our Community Education programs. ARTIST RESIDENCY

At Silver Art, growth translates into expanding practice and amplifying impact. For up to 10 months each year, artists in the cohort can devote resources to creating new and different artworks without the impedement of the expense of studio space in New York City. In addition to the free studio space, artists are connected through Silver Art's programming, to curators, artists peers, mentors, arts professionals, collectors, and thought-leaders.

RODDENBERRY FELLOWSHIP

Launched in 2016, the Roddenberry Fellowship is a U.S.-based fellowship awarded to extraordinary leaders and advocates who use new and innovative strategies to safeguard human rights and ensure an equal and just society for all. The Roddenberry Fellowship is a 12-month program that offers Fellows $50,000 and access to a community of like-minded peers who are collectively working to reimagine a fairer, more inclusive country.

LOVE YOUR TRAILS GROUND MURAL SERIES

Over 50 miles of trails weave through open spaces, parks, and neighborhoods across Adams County. Trails connect residents to recreational activities like fishing, disc golf, horseshoes, and biking. Trails lead to fresh air, glimpses of local animal life, and uninterrupted views of nature. Adams County seeks artists or artist teams to create ground murals that celebrate the variety of ways that access to nature enriches our lives. Adams County Visual Arts Commission will select up to 15 artists or artist teams to install ground murals on concrete paths at separate locations along the Adams County trail systems. Mural materials must be appropriate for high-traffic, exterior locations with exposure to extreme weather.

PLACEMAKING MURAL

The Placemaking Committee of the Village of Tarrytown is seeking an artist to undertake a mural for the Village. The mural is to be painted on the side wall of the restaurant Taste of China, on Kaldenberg Street just off Main Street. The area is approximately 12’ wide and 8’ high.

CALL FOR ART ON AUDUBON TERRACE

The Hispanic Society Museum & Library and the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA) are pleased to request submissions for a summer outdoor installation on Audubon Terrace (Broadway between 155th and 156th streets). The Hispanic Society is committed to expanding the discourse of the art and culture of the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries. The Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance’s mission is to cultivate, support, and promote the work of emerging and established artists and arts organizations in upper Manhattan. Together, the Hispanic Society and NoMAA invite local artists to submit an original work to be installed on the Hispanic Society’s public Audubon Terrace. The selected work will be on view beginning in early June 2023– coinciding with NoMAA’s annual Uptown Arts Stroll — through the end of the summer 2023.

MAY 2022 AWESOME FOUNDATION

The Awesome Foundation is a global community advancing the interest of awesome in the universe, $1000 at a time. Each fully autonomous chapter supports awesome projects through micro-grants, usually given out monthly. These micro-grants, $1000 or the local equivalent, come out of pockets of the chapter's "trustees" and are given on a no-strings-attached basis to people and groups working on awesome projects. Applications are due on the last day of each month. If your project was not selected in a given month, please feel free to reapply. The committee generally only review applications from the current month's pool.

ARTIST STUDIO

Located on the sixth floor of the Museum and open to the public, the Artist Studios at MAD is a community engagement and professional development program for contemporary artists and designers. The first program of its kind, the Artist Studios opportunity is designed to encourage visitors to meet artists-in-residence as they expand their creative practice while working on-site at MAD. Three artists (two Daily Residents and one Artist Fellow) are selected per six-month session, for which they receive access to studio space in the Museum and a stipend. Visitors are welcome to visit MAD’s Artist Studios three days each week to view works in progress and converse with the artists and designers.

MENTORSHIP AWARD CULTURAL & ARTISTS RESPONSES TO ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES

Cultural & Artistic Responses to Environmental Change is a year-long interdisciplinary programme that is aimed at accelerating engaged community-based cultural practices at the intersection of arts and the environment, initiating an international network of creatives, and fostering leadership. Through this programme we create a platform to explore critical artistic practices, stimulate joint learning, connect engaged practitioners across the world, stimulate cross-disciplinary exchange, and amplify new perspectives on environmental change. Prince Claud Fund is for artists and cultural practitioners who live and work in our eligible countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and Eastern Europe.

NAOMI ANOLIC EARLY CAREER JEWISH VISUAL ARTS AWARD

The Naomi Anolic Early Career Jewish Visual Arts Award is intended to support and provide momentum for Jewish artists who are early in their artistic careers and who would benefit from the support and recognition this award would provide. An applicant for the Naomi Anolic Award will have demonstrated great potential, but not yet have achieved broad success or be considered well established professionally. QUICK GRANT

The Quick Grant program awards reimbursement funds up to $600 to California artists, creatives, cultural practitioners, and cultural producers, and San Francisco/San Jose nonprofit arts administrators to participate in professional development activities that build administrative capacity, hone business skills, and strengthen the financial sustainability of the grantee’s practice, area of cultural production, or arts organization. Applications are due on the 15th of the month with a one-month turnaround. Applications received after the 15th of a given month will be reviewed in the following month's application cycle.

THE BARBARA AND CARL ZYDNEY GRANT FOR ARTISTS WITH DISABILITIES

New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is pleased to launch The Barbara and Carl Zydney Grant for Artists with Disabilities. CREATIVE CARIBBEAN GRANT

Creative Caribbean is a new grant facility for the cultural and creative sector in 15 countries in the Caribbean. This regional support programme is part of the ACP-EU Culture Programme financed by the 11th European Development Fund and implemented globally by the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States. In the Caribbean region, the project is being implemented by UNESCO Cluster Office for the Caribbean, The University of the West Indies and the CARICOM Secretariat.

CHUN FAMILY FOUNDATION CURATORIAL FELLOWSHIP

The AHL–Chun Family Foundation Curatorial Fellowships are year-long fellowship programs that provide a $3,000 stipend and hands-on curatorial experiences to emerging curators of Korean heritage. This program supports the AHL Foundation’s goal of encouraging both curatorial research of Korean contemporary art and greater diversity within the curatorial field. Two persons will be selected — One for the Senior Curatorial Fellowship and one for the AHL Curatorial Fellowship. The Senior Curatorial Fellow will be provided the opportunity to curate their own exhibition in New York City. $3,000 will go towards realizing their proposed exhibition.

The AHL–Andrew & Barbara Choi Family Grant is an annual project grant awarded to recognize and support the accomplishments of a talented artist of Korean heritage working in the United States. This grant aims to nurture and assist talented visual artists of all career stages in realizing forthcoming projects while building their capacity to sustain productive long-term careers. The main purpose of the grant is to support the artist’s creative process and to cultivate innovative and challenging work during key moments in the development of the artist’s career. This is a project-specific grant and can only be used for the creation and exhibition/execution of a specific artwork/project. Artists cannot use this grant for their living expenses.

T&W FOUNDATION CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ARTS AWARD

The AHL Foundation is pleased to announce the open call for the 2022 AHL – T&W Foundation Contemporary Visual Art Awards. These awards recognize the work of exemplary young emerging contemporary artists of Korean descent in the United States and provide them with a monetary prize and the opportunity to have their work presented at a group exhibition in New York in October 2022. Awardees will also have the chance to participate in a mentoring program with the award jurors from July 2022 to September 2022.
