FLINT PUBLIC ART PROJECT

Apply to create community-engaged public art during the 2021 season in Flint, Michigan. Flint Public Art Project seeks muralists interested in painting walls that celebrate community, beautify neglected buildings, fight urban blight, and revitalize neighborhoods.

THE CONEY ISLAND FOR EVERYONE MURAL PROJECT

The Alliance for Coney Island is proud to commission a series of storefront gate murals spanning both the Surf Avenue/Amusement District and Mermaid Avenue/Commercial District in Coney Island. Home to over 350 businesses and 50,000 residents, Coney Island is a collection of independent businesses and attractions, from high-end restaurants, souvenir shops and amusement rides to smaller mom and pop businesses who are dedicated to serving our diverse community and visitors.

HOPPER PRIZE 2021 ARTIST GRANT

The Hopper Prize has opened their Spring 2021 Artist Grant. 2 artists will each receive $3,500 and 4 artists will each receive $1,000. 30 Artists will have their work archived online. Winners will be selected by 2 new curators including Maria Elena Ortiz of Perez Art Museum Miami.


GOLD HOUSE COLLECTIVE ART CALL

Gold House is the premier nonprofit collective of Asian founders, creative voices, and leaders dedicated to unifying the world’s largest populace–Asians and Pacific Islanders–to enable more authentic multicultural representation and societal equity. DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY MURAL

Mural Arts Philadelphia is the largest public art initiative of its kind, dedicated to the belief that art ignites change. Mural Arts is seeking a Director of Community Murals who is responsible for leading and managing the Community Murals staff, the mural application process, managing and developing the departmental budget, as well as the strategic growth of the Community Murals program. ARTS IN EDUCATION COORDINATOR

Brooklyn Art’s Council is currently seeking an Arts in Education Coordinator to join their team. The ideal person is a self-motivated, dynamic team player, focused on enriching lifelong learning for seniors and students through arts experiences in school and community settings as part of Brooklyn Art’s Council’s the Arts in Education (AIE) team. The Arts in Education Coordinator must be a creative individual with strong attention to detail, and superior writing and communications skills. The Arts in Education Coordinator will work closely with and report to the Director of Arts in Education, collaborate with BAC staff, Teaching Artists, and Partner Teachers. VERMONT MURAL OPPORTUNITY

The Community Engagement Lab invites muralists experienced in community-engaged mural making to submit their qualifications for consideration toward a community residency and mural commission for the Vermont Mural Project and ONE WORLD Festival of Arts & Imagination. Selected artists will participate in the Vermont Mural Project. The Vermont Mural Project will result in a statewide collection of murals co-created with community teams.

MURAL ARTS PHILADELPHIA: COLORED COVENTION PROJECT

The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program is proud to announce partnership with the Colored Conventions Project, an award-winning initiative that brings seven decades of early Black organizing to digital life at ColoredConventions.org. Together they are seeking proposals for the first in a series of murals to be dedicated to the rich history of the Colored Conventions Movement which was founded right here in Philadelphia. The project will run approximately from the beginning of June until late summer, and the artist fee will be $10,000.

Eligibility: Global but artists must have U.S. work authorization.

AMPLIFY GRANTS

Designed for artists of color, AMPLIFY is a publicly-funded grant created with the intention of investing in artistic success. The AMPLIFY grant aims to provide artists with a chance to invest in their professional development by celebrating awardees with a one-time grant of $500. There will be two cycles of this grant to address the needs of artists at different stages in their careers.

Eligibility: This second grant cycle will be designated for BIPOC artists who demonstrate proficiency, potential, and passion in their artistic medium between the ages of 23-31. Applicants are not required to prove citizenship, but must reside in the USA or local territories.

Deadline: April 2nd


CARIBBEAN CULTURE INSTITUTE ARTIST FELLOWSHIP

This fellowship is open to Caribbean artists and cultural practitioners, either based in the region or living in the diaspora. It is open to artists at any stage of their careers and to those working across disciplines and media. This is an opportunity for the development of artistic practice via studio work, institutional collaborations, and/or public programs. Artists interested in developing specific projects or ideas are encouraged to apply. The CCI will provide access to PAMM’s curatorial resources, networks, and institutional support. Partnerships and collaborations with local or regional institutions are encouraged.

Eligibility: Caribbean artists & cultural practitioners based in the Caribbean or Diaspora. Residents in Florida should apply to the regional specific fellowship.

CARIBBEAN CULTURE INSTITUTE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

This fellowship is open to Caribbean researchers, scholars, or curators at any stage in their careers who are based the Caribbean region or its diaspora. An applicant’s research or practice should advance the study of visual culture and contemporary art in the Caribbean region and/or its diaspora. The Fellows will be able to develop their own research, and are encouraged to engage with PAMM’s Caribbean art collection. The CCI will support object-led research into PAMM’s Caribbean art collection in order to further scholarship on the visual arts of the region and share the collection with broader audiences. The Fellows will produce text about their research, which will be published on the CCI website.

Eligibility: Caribbean artists & cultural practitioners based in the Caribbean or Diaspora. Residents in Florida should apply to the regional specific fellowship.

NEWARK EMERGENCY GRANT

Individual artists who reside in Newark, NJ, whose livelihood has been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible to receive a Newark Arts Emergency Grant. Newark Art’s Emergency Grant is a need-based mini-grant. It is intended to provide financial support to individual artists who live in Newark, NJ to support their ability to continue to create music, dance, theatre, film, visual and literary art projects. Grants will be awarded to individuals ranging up to $1,000 each.

ARTBRIDGE ARTIST FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM @ MITCHEL HOUSES

ArtBridge is a NYC-based non-profit organization that transforms construction fencing and scaffolding into canvases for community-based public art. They are looking for 2 Bronx-based visual artists (with preference for the South Bronx) to create new public artworks for the Mitchel Houses this Spring. Artists will have 6 weeks (tentatively planned for April 19 - May 28) to develop new artworks with support from ArtBridge and local organizations.

CUP FELLOWSHIP

The Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP) fellowship is open. Aligned with their mission, the year-long paid fellowship is designed to promote and support emerging designers from historically marginalized communities in gaining the skills, contacts, and experience to help them excel in their design career. The Fellow works at CUP full-time, collaborating on our community-engaged design projects as part of the CUP team, working as an in-house designer, and participating in mentoring opportunities.

MURAL ARTS PHILADELPHIA: GIANT COMPANY MURAL PROJECT RFQ

Mural Arts Philadelphia is proud to partner with The GIANT Company on a major project about the intersection between food justice and racial justice. This project seeks to engage organizations, activists and communities working towards equity in Food Justice. They are seeking artists to create a permanent mural that reflects on the theme of food justice and is explored through a community engagement process.

TRAVERSE CITY UNION MURAL PROJECT

The Traverse City Arts Commission of Michigan would like help in creating a public exhibit that explores the unifying themes of arts. Thanks to a generous mini-grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, has an exciting opportunity for artists -- the ‘Union” Mural Project.

MURALS DC RFQ

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH), in partnership with the DC Department of Public Works (DPW), seeks graffiti and aerosol mural artists and artist teams to design, create and install aerosol murals as part of the MuralsDC program. Selected artists will be expected to engage in a guided component of the program with designated youth (ages 14-18) to help them understand the art of aerosol graffiti mural painting and provide youth with opportunities to assist in activities such as site preparation and mural outlining.

MIRACLE SELTZER ARTIST FUND

The Miracle Seltzer Artist Fund periodically awards individuals with grants of at least $500 to support their work as an artist. We believe in the transformative power of creative energy and look to support its proliferation in our community. Our goal with Miracle Seltzer is to help guide our perspectives towards the good in the world, what we call the Miraculous, and our hope is that with these grants, the artists who receive them will have more time to focus on the Miracles in the studio.

Eligibility: There are no prerequisites for entry, no need for a resume, cv, or degree. All are welcome to apply.

J.MK. INNOVATION PRIZE


The J.M.K. Innovation Prize seeks to identify, support, and elevate innovators who are spearheading transformative early-stage projects in the fields of social justice, the environment, and heritage conservation. Up to ten Prizes will be awarded, each including a cash award of $150,000 over three years, plus $25,000 in technical assistance funds, for a total award of $175,000. Awardees also receive guidance through the Fund and its resource network, providing tools and training that can help turn innovative ideas into life-changing social impacts.

NEWARK ARTSTART GRANT

Newark Arts established the ArtStart Grant Program in 2001 specifically to nurture arts and cultural activities throughout the City of Newark and to enhance the capacity of Newark’s non-profit organizations, schools, and individual artists to provide arts-based projects throughout the City’s five wards. ArtStart events must take place between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022. Applicants may request a maximum of $3,000.

NOT A REAL ART GRANT

Not Real Art grant is a $12,000 annual award designed to empower the practice of emerging contemporary artists. The Grant is designed to empower the practice of 6 contemporary artists, each who receive $2,000.

ART X ACTIVISM E-ZINE: STREET ART

Shelby x Studios uses art to help make social justice campaigns more accessible. Their monthly digital zine 'ART X ACTIVISM' commissions educational resources, articles and uplifting artwork to help people learn about social justice issues and feel motivated to take action. There are four commission opportunities available. Two x short articles and two creative commissions responding to the theme of Street Art. Some ideas of things you could explore - the political history of street art, street art vs graffiti, streets as a political canvas, mural art as a form of consciousness raising, remembering radical history. You are welcome to submit existing work or variations and/or reflections on it.

JANE WALKER FIRST WOMEN GRANT

First Women campaign, Jane Walker and IFundWomen have teamed up to help create more opportunities for women to achieve their goals. Through this program, 15 groundbreaking women-owned businesses will be selected across the Entertainment & Film, Music, Sports, Journalism, STEM and Hospitality industries to receive a $10K grant plus a one-year Annual Coaching Membership on IFundWomen.
