BLACK ARTSTORY MONTH: EXHIBITION OPEN CALL

Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership is hosting an open call for visual artists for their upcoming Black Artstory exhibition. The exhibition, Love, This Time Call, will feature artwork that connects to the theme of “Love, this time” and it can build on love as liberation, love as healing and love as (re)unification.

LES YOUNG ARTISTS OF COLOR FELLOWSHIP

Young artists from any discipline are encouraged to apply to FABnyc and Good Ole Lower East Side (GOLES) fellowship. Fellows will each receive a $500 stipend, meetings and exchange with established arts professionals of color, and a supportive circle for sharing artistic works-in-progress and career challenges. Fellows will have the opportunity to share their work publicly through a culminating group event.

STUDIO MUSEUM: MUSEUM PROFESSIONAL SEMINAR

The Museum Professionals Seminar is a brand new digital program designed to provide professional development inspired by the Studio Museum’s mission. The Seminar is a series of educational workshops aimed at supporting museum professionals looking to incubate, ideate, and network. The program promotes discussion, interaction, and exposure with special attention to skill-building and career-readiness.

UNIV OF COLORADO CALL FOR QUALIFICATIONS

CU Denver is looking for an artist to create and install custom artworks in the Learning Commons and Residence Hall lobbies (total of two) that reflect the CU Denver community and inspire students and education. Additionally, they would like the artist to create a custom art installation at each Community Wall within the Residence Hall dorm room corridors (total of 15). These pieces should be of a similar type and format but should be unique enough to be differentiated from each other. They are meant to help define each housing community (cluster of students living near each other).

MOCADA OPEN CALL

MoCADA gives curators and artists across an array of artistic disciplines an opportunity to submit a collection of their work for potential programming inclusion. Understanding the new landscape that has emerged as a result of COVID-19, the open call is extended to curators as well as community program producers across the African diaspora.

BERNHEIM ARTIST IN RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Bernheim’s Artist in Residence Program annually awards artists the opportunity to live and create site specific work inspired by their total immersion experience in the natural environment. This internationally renowned program has hosted a multitude of sculptors, photographers, painters, printmakers, installation artists, videographers, and sound artists, as well as contemporary explorations of nature through science, sense and digital mediums. They encourage visual artists of all mediums, with the broadest range of diverse perspectives and experiences, to submit work for consideration.

DEFINE AMERICAN IMMIGRANT CREATIVE FELLOWSHIP

This fellowship supports immigrant creatives working in narrative art forms as they build their professional practice and network. The Define American Creative Fellowship is open to creatives in narrative-oriented art forms (writing, filmmaking, visual storytelling, theater, illustration, spoken word, digital journalism, etc.) with at least some experience (professional or amateur) in their chosen medium. This program is uniquely suited to supporting artists who have a deep commitment to their local communities and further developing their creative practice as they shape narratives of American identity.

Eligibility: Immigrant Americans, regardless of current immigration status — undocumented, DACAmented, naturalized citizens, green card holders, refugees, asylum seekers, etc

SAVE ARTSPACE: IN TIME OF CHANGE

SaveArtSpace is proud to partner with Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) to bring more public art to Denver, CO, launching March 2021 to produce In A Time Of Change. We are looking for images that represent change for you and the ways you are documenting current cultural movements, including social justice, climate crisis, and more.

BRONX ART SPACE: EXHIBITION OPEN CALL

Bronx Art Space (BAS) invites artists to submit proposals for the thematic group show, Giving Light: An Art Antidote to Gun Violence organized/curated by Beverly Emers. The exhibition will provoke thought, emotion, conversation and a call to action to gun violence. The curator desires to lift up this public health issue while providing a space to mourn, uplift, educate and embrace while empowering the community.

DOWNTOWN FAR ROCKAWAY ARTIST COMMISSIONING PROGRAM

The Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation (RDRC) is working with Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) to kickstart the launch the DFR Artist Commissioning Program (ACP), a democratized art commissioning project focused on placing artwork, designed by local artists on solid rolldown gates of businesses located in Downtown Far Rockaway. Artists are asked to respond to call for qualifications.

RARE CREATIVE FELLOWSHIP

Google is inviting emerging creative talent from a variety of disciplines – writing, art direction, filmmaking, visual design, product design, and more – to work with their creative teams for nine months. You don’t need a degree or a portfolio to apply, just passion. Participants can expect hands-on experience with projects, one-on-one mentorship, networking opportunities, events, and speakers.

Eligibility: legally authorized to work in the US as of Apr 2021 & can speak English fluently

QUEEN CITY COURTS COMMISSION

The Marquette Public Arts Commission (MPAC) is seeking a qualified artist or artist team to design artwork and paint a site-specific artwork on the surface of the Hurley Park Basketball Court, Marquette, MI.

QUEENS ART FUND THE NEW WORK GRANT

The New Work Grant supports artists that live in Queens or lease a studio in Queens, for the creation of new work that contributes to the cultural life of the borough.

ANCHORAGE EAST RIVER WASTEWATER FACILITY

The art selection jury intends to commission two complementary installations totaling $107,000 to be permanently installed at two different locations near the exterior main entry to the Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility (AWWU) Eagle River Wastewater Treatment Facility (ERWWTF). The jury would like to see mural proposals for location 2 on the facility’s garage doors.

2021 NYC Health + Hospital Community Mural Project RFQ

This call for qualification for Visual artists will engage with patients, staff, and local residents to create an integrated internal or external mural at selected NYC Health + Hospitals facilities. The aim of the program is to use a collaborative mural making process as a tool to build trust and engagement between the hospitals and their communities, build neighborhood pride, and reduce the stigma associated with hospitals through community building activities.

STATEN ISLAND ARTS: DCA PREMIER GRANT

DCA Premier Grants support first-time applicants — both individual Staten Island artists, collaborative groups of individuals, and community arts and cultural organizations — who produce art or cultural programming with $750- $3,000 of funding. Preference will be given to the under-resourced disciplines for 2021: Folk Arts, Humanities, New Media, Painting, Photography, and Public Art

STATEN ISLAND: FUTURE CULTURE CREATIVE PLACEMAKING GRANT

The Future Culture Creative Placemaking Grants are meant to support Staten Island artists creating new work in a community setting that connects places and people using arts and culture on Staten Island’s North Shore. An essential element of this funding is community engagement. The project must engage a segment of the community through a public program and/or the inclusion of community involvement in the development and creative process of the project.

NYSCA/NYFA ARTIST FELLOWSHIP

The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship is a $7,000 unrestricted cash grant available to artists living in New York State and/or one of the Indian Nations located therein. This grant is awarded in different disciplines (Fiction, Folk/Traditional Arts, Interdisciplinary Work, Painting, Video/Film). The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship is not a project grant, but is intended to fund an artist’s vision or voice, at all levels of their artistic development.

Eligibility: Current residents of NY and/or one of the Indian Nations located in NY state

CREATIVE CAPITAL AWARD

The Creative Capital Award is designed to assist artists who are working at the vanguard of their fields, or who have ideas to propel their artistic practices forward. Artists need partners to make ambitious work, and Creative Capital set out to be just that. Applications open on February.

SINGAPOREAN ART MUSEUM OPEN CALL

SAM Residencies is now accepting applications for the 2021 cycle for three residencies – the Artist Residency; Community & Education Residency; and Curatorial & Research Residency. Selected residents will be hosted in Singapore between July 2021 and March 2023, for a period of between one and six months.

BALDWIN FOR THE ARTS RESIDENCY

Baldwin For The Arts is an artist residency program. Named for the writer, James Baldwin, BFTA nurtures the arts by offering creative BIPOC individuals an inspiring environment in which they can produce enduring works of the imagination.A Baldwin Fellowship consists of exclusive use of a private studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day anywhere from one week to four weeks. BFTA does not offer classes or instruction.

Applications open January 15th.
